How to Validate Your Mobile App Idea: 3 Simple Steps to Ensure It Works

We present a clear sequence of steps to follow to test the potential and feasibility of further developing your company's mobile app, illustrated by one of our projects.

Increasingly, companies of all sizes and industries are acquiring their own mobile apps. Our experience shows that they not only attract new clients but also acquire an additional source of income.

For example, the mobile app RoomRenderAI, which we developed for Triforce Construction (read the case study at this link), turned out to be very successful. Thanks to its interesting functionality, it attracted thousands of users, became monetized, and evolved into a separate business.

To make your company's mobile app as successful, you need to find a reliable partner who will guide you through the process of validating your mobile app idea, help confirm the correctness of the chosen direction, and then assist in planning the strategy for further development.

Conduct a market research study. Often, the mobile app that companies commission us to develop is directly (a doctor's appointment system, automatic online credit issuance, city transport booking) or at least indirectly related to their business.

If the client does not have a specific idea or it is not fully formed, our marketing team conducts a market research study of the market as a whole and the specific niche in particular, to choose the right direction. It should be trendy and useful both for the client and their customers.

For instance, Triforce Construction, which specializes in construction and finishing, was chosen to have a mobile app based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. It visualizes the appearance of a room after a proposed renovation in the style specified by the user.

Create an MVP of your mobile app. Of course, it's impossible to be 100% certain that a future project will become incredibly popular among users. A hypothesis formed during market research requires further confirmation.

To test the hypothesis, a minimum viable product (MVP) is used. This is a basic version of any software product, including a mobile app. It has initial work on UI/UX, basic functionality, but usually does not include monetization.

Initially, we published the first version of the RoomRenderAI app in the App Store and Google Play. It lacked a personal account or any additional functionality but already created several interior design options based on the information the user initially provided in a questionnaire.

Get feedback and make improvements. As the project acquires its first users, they inevitably start leaving reviews. It's best to use feedback forms within the mobile app to avoid affecting the rating in the App Store and Google Play.

Based on feedback and a previously developed strategy, the mobile app's additional functionality is implemented. Necessary features are added, and a monetization system is integrated if it was planned.

The enhanced version of the RoomRenderAI mobile app included a personal user account linked to all generated images, as well as an integrated monetization model. The project became not only another way to attract new clients but also a separate business.

To ensure that the RoomRenderAI mobile app idea worked, it did not take much time. The project was made possible only through effective collaboration between the marketing team, developers, and other specialists at Focus21, as well as representatives from Triforce Construction.

We have many more ideas for developing the mobile app that already attracts a multitude of clients and generates significant profit. Some of these will be realized, others will be discarded after testing and receiving feedback from users.

Your company can also obtain its own mobile app, which will expand your business's presence online and have a profoundly positive impact on its systematic digital transformation. If you have ideas, we would be delighted to discuss them; if not, we can create them together.
